Some activity in Barclays (350k shares) and FNBB (225k shares) the only names worth mentioning with the rest of the market very quiet.
A solid start to the week from an activity point of view in Nairobi with turnover amounting to $7.9m as foreigners continued to dominate proceedings. Safcom managed to close the session +1.3% higher on foreign demand as 15.5m shares changed hands in the telco. There were a few crosses in EABL as the brewer gained +0.4% on 761k shares. There was a little bit of action in the two major banking stocks EQBNK and KNCB as 3.3m shares and 2.8m shares changed hands in the names respectively.
Another quiet day in Port Louis. The only real activity took place in MCBG (unch, Rs208.00).
Another rather dull start to the week in Lagos as turnover amounted to $15m with some activity in the likes of FBNH ($2.1m), GTB ($2.1m), Zenith ($1.8m) and Nestle ($1m). Banks closed the day lower with the sector falling -0.67% thanks to ETI (-4.42%) and GTB (-2.68%). Consumers (-0.85%) were also weaker with PZ Cussons (-6.16%) and Flour Mills (-4.63%) dragging the sector lower.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Today was all about Econet as more than 3.1m shares changed hands in the name at 18c. Elsewhere the lack of interest in the market continues.
