Movers & Shakers: November 30, 2016

Botswana: DCI unch, USD 47k

Nothing to report from Gaborone.

Kenya: NSE 20 -0.29%, USD 8.7m

A couple of crosses lit up the last trading day of November. Once again we saw some heavy action in Safcom (+30bps, N19.90) with the telco trading almost $5m worth. There was also some chunky crosses in EABL with the brewer slipping by 40bps to KES248.00. The banks also saw some late action with both KNCB (-80bps) and EqBnk (unch) closing at KES30.00.

Mauritius: Semdex -0.21%, USD 1.3m

Another decent day in Port Louis thanks once again to MCBG as 100k shares changed hands in the name.

Nigeria: ASI +0.03%, USD 10.8m

There were some late crosses which meant that we finally saw some decent trading volumes. Banks climbed by 2.28% with some nice activity being witnessed in GTB (+3.90%, N22.65) and Zenith (+2.07%, N13.80). Consumers also ended the day in the green (+57bps) with Nestle (+1bp, N810.06) and NB (+1.40%, N145.00) leading the way. There were also a couple of crosses in Dangcem (-2.53%, N154.00).

Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.

Zimbabwe: Industrials +1.11%, USD 3.4m

Activity continues to impress in Harare, but this should however be taken with a pinch of salt as Delta ($2.7m) accounted for the bulk of turnover while the rest of the market was relatively quiet.
