The market continues its slumber
A really quiet day in Kenya with foreign activity also extremely low. The bulk of the action was focused on Equity Bank (+90bps, KES55.00) and Safcom (+1.6%, KES15.70) while there was mild action in KNCB (+80bps, KES59.50). Local trading dominated names like NMG (-1.1%, KES262), Uchumi (+2.8%, KES10.95) and Jubilee (-90bps, KES542).
502k MCBG exchanged hands today to close at a four month high of Rs206 (+0.5%). SBM did its usual to close the day off at Rs1.01 on the back of 2.5m Shares traded. PBL traded a total of 11k shares to close flat at Rs280.00 while the rest of the counters registered menial trades
Trading remains muted in Lagos although the strong buying in banks (+2.84%) and consumers (+54bps) continues. All banks closed the day in the green led higher by Access (+7.88%, N6.57), UBA (+4.17%, N3.75) and GTB (+3.18%, N22.70). The consumers were painfully dull outside of 2 crosses NB (unch, N139.00) and PZ (+3.83%, N28.49). Outside of these the market was really quiet.

Subdued volumes continue to brood over the Harare market, as Delta was the only counter to contribute significantly towards turnover (109k). The counter closed down at 115.3c on the back of 94k shares traded. Other notable names such as Econet, Ok Zim and Innscor closed down at 54c, 14c and 59c respectively
