Nothing to report from Gaborone.
A decent start to the week in Nairobi as turnover increased to $9.7m with foreigners accounting for 83% of activity. EQBNK was the most active stock on the day as 8.1m shares changed hands with the name closing +2.5% higher on foreign demand. KNCB on the other hand came under some foreign selling pressure and closed the day -1.8% lower on 4.6m shares. A little bit of action in Safcom as the telco gained +0.3% on 10.7m shares while EABL closed +0.7% higher.
A slow start to the week in Port Louis with not much on the go in market heavyweights MCBG and SBMH as 12k shares and 1.4m shares changed hands in the names respectively.
An extremely dull start to the week in Lagos with turnover amounting to a paltry $5.4m with FBNH ($1m) the only name worth mentioning. Banks came under some serious pressure with the sector falling -3.39% thanks to the likes of Zenith (-4.82%), GTB (-3.72%) and UBA (-3.70%). Consumers (-0.90%) also closed lower thanks to NB (-2.11%).
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Another quiet day in Harare with the only real activity taking place in Delta (81c) and Econet (23.95c).
