A massive Turnstar cross amounting to $3.1m contributing to 90% of today’s market turnover. BIHL ($265k) and BTCL $42k were the only other names worth a mention on the Gaborone bourse.
A positive start to Uhuru Kenyatta’s second term as president as Kenya Airways (+95%) moved the index higher as it listed additional shares on the bourse after a 2-week suspension. The big four dominated the turnover on the day with all four accounting for a total of 85% of turnover.
Things getting better on the Mauritius bourse as MCBG (-1.9%, Rs265.00) once again dominating the market amounting to over 45% of the market while Rs77m changed hands. SBM (unch, Rs7.70), Sun Resorts (unch, Rs49.00) and Ciel (unch, Rs7.20) all had semi decent days.
The positive trend in Nigeria continued as the Insurance, Banks and Consumers dominated the gains. NB ($2.6m) and Zenith ($1.9m) dominated the action on the day accounting for a total of 39% of turnover.

The market turnover increased from yesterday with foreign participation being almost 40% of the buy side and sales 39%. The industrial index extended its growth advancing 19bps to close at 371.03. Econet (117.95c, $1.9m) and Old Mutual (597.86c, $2m) were the main movers on the bouse with a combined total 70% of total market turnover. Delta (192.09c, $621k), Afdis (149.98c, $267k) Seedco (176.44c, $182k) and Inscor (110.00c, $246k) all with decent contributiond to the market.
