Not a bad start to the week in Gaborone (relatively speaking) with some activity in BTCL (2.5m shares) and Barclays (621k shares).
A quiet start to the month in Nairobi. An early chunky cross in EqBnk (unch, KES40.00) was about the only excitement with the bulk of the session proving extremely lethargic. There was some mild activity in EABL (-1%, KES294) and KNCB (unch, KES41.50) while the rest of the market was dead.
An extremely dull day in Port Louis with nothing to report on.
The first day of the month seemed to bring some buyers out to play as many names closed in the green. Banks gained a solid 2.3% with Zenith (+2.13%, N12.97) leading the way. There was also some late crossing in Access (+4.94%, N4.25). Consumers gained an impressive 5.04% with both Nestle (+10.25%, N678.32) and NB (+5%, N121.68) closing at limit up. Dangcem (N171.57) and Wapco (N71.38) also closed at limit up.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Some small activity in Econet ($162k) and Innscor ($112k) the only names worth mentioning on another quiet start to the week in Harare.
