A nice bit of action spread across Sefalana (1330t), BTCL (114t) and Letshego (267t).
Another quiet day in Kenya. The main action took place in Equity Bank which saw both foreign buying and selling – the bank eventually closed unchanged at KES40.00. There was also some nice activity going on in Safcom with the telco eventually settling at KES16.90 (-30bps). Outside of KNCB (-5.4%, KES39.25) the rest of the market was uneventful.
Activity trying to return to the Mauritian bourse. The main action, as always, was in MCBG with the banking group gaining 20bps to Rs212.00.
The bourse gave back some of its gains from yesterday while we witnessed a number of decent crosses. The banks were generally soft as the sector fell by 1%. There was decent action in FBNH (-85bps, N3.50) and Zenith (+15bps, N12.99). The consumers closed marginally higher with Nestle (+25bps, N680) seeing some good volumes through a number of crosses.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
The ZSE continues to rally with some nice volumes going through in Natfoods (210c), Econet (25.48c) and Delta (71.11c).
