Things slowed down in Gaborone today with a small bit of action in Sefalana the only name worth mentioning as 185k shares traded.
It was a rather uneventful day as turnover fell -28.1% to $5.4m with EQBNK the main driver behind the action as 5m shares traded with the name falling -0.6% on local selling. There was also a small bit of action in Safcom and EABL as 6.2m shares and 209k shares traded in the names respectively. Elsewhere the market was very quiet with nothing to report.
Some chunky crossing in Rockcastle (-4.6%, Rs2.26) was the main story in town today. The rest of the market was uneventful.
It was a very dull day in Lagos with a small bit of activity in FBNH ($1.5m), Zenith ($1.3m) and GTB ($1.2m) while the rest of the market was dead quiet. Banking stocks managed to close higher after yesterday's sell-off with the sector gaining +0.73% thanks to gains in ETI (+3.17%) and Access (+1.96%). Consumers (+0.76%) also closed higher, albeit on small volume thanks to NB (+1.84%). The MPC maintained both the MPR and CRR at 12% and 22.50% respectively. They also stated that it was time to introduce flexibility into the FX market.

A rather sluggish day in Harare. The bulk of the action went through in Seedco (57.14c) and Econet (22.41c).
